Qwik BT

We welcome users that perhaps missed out on the short lived “OnOff” bluetooth iOS app. Qwik BT was developed WITHIN Apple’s strict guidelines and as such has been on the store for more than 27 months and will continue to be available on the store.

Qwik BT – DOES NOT TURN OFF BLUETOOTH!

Qwik BT – works great on iOS 3.x – iOS 5.x

With just TWO TAPS* you can turn on Bluetooth. It IS just one-tap once you launch the app!

Sadly this bears repeating:
Qwik BT – DOES NOT TURN OFF BLUETOOTH!

It is illegal to drive and talk without using a bluetooth headset in many states. You should not operate any mobile device while driving!
Have you ever started driving your car and then remembered you forgot to turn on your Bluetooth? Tapping through the menus can be dangerous and a safety hazard. Use Qwik BT to allow you to turn on Bluetooth with just two taps (one to launch the app the other to tap “OK”).

(after turning on the auto functions in the Settings app).

NOTICE #2: iOS 5.1 has DISABLED the new URL functionality. This is of course beyond our control and we will continue to offer Qwik BT for sale.

iOS 5.0 (ONLY) Users: Please CLICK HERE!!

NOTICE: We are offering this as a service to our customers. Quite frankly we didn’t have to tell anyone about the new URL services available in iOS 5 and continue to sell Qwik BT. HOWEVER, that IS NOT the kind of business we are running. Sure we want to and need to make money but we want to do that honestly and be able to look ourselves in the mirror. So there you have it; we know full well iOS 5 users should no longer purchase Qwik BT.
Update: Oh and here is the page with most of the other settings URL’s with our custom icons(1).

Features:

Enables Bluetooth in just a few taps.
Set the app to auto exit after you tap cancel on the second pop-up.
Set a delay so all you have to do is tap “OK” and Qwik BT will do the rest (turn on Bluetooth and then automatically close the app).
Don’t set anything and on the third pop-up, just tap “Exit” so no more fumbling for the “Home” button.
Response to reviews: of course this app works, Apple would not approve it if it did not work. Perhaps the users that are rating it with one-star do not understand its purpose and/or its limitations. You can also try leaving your bluetooth device off, then turn it on once your device’s bluetooth is on. Qwik BT reconnects my earpiece every time I use it. I’m very sorry if it does not work for you.

Common questions via email:
Q. Why can’t you turn bluetooth off?
A. Apple does not allow developers direct access to bluetooth
Q. Why don’t you get rid of the “Connect” pop-up?
A. That is the only way to quickly turn on bluetooth
Q. Where are the options?
A. Open the Settings app and scroll down to Qwik BT

I have iOS5. I followed your link, above, and it is indecipherable. What are we supposed to actually do? And the link on the bottom of THAT page is broken. nice site. I hope your app is better than your webpage.

      Hi DAB,

First thanks for the “attitude” it sure makes me want to help you!

I have added a notice to the page, just for you. :-)
      (repeated here for clarity)
NOTICE: This must be accessed from your iOS device! <- this should be obvious but it seems I must say it.

In addition; I’m not sure I can make it any clearer than what is listed on “THAT” page.
      (repeated here for clarity)

      Instructions:
      1) Tap on the link and it will open up in a new tab
      2) Tap the “Cancel” dialog, and then tap “Add To Home Screen” as you would normally add a bookmark.
Note: Wait for the icon image to load

To further clarify; the link on the bottom of “THAT” page will ONLY work on your iOS device.

If you require further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.

Unfortunately the ios5 link does not now work with iOS 5.0.1 it jumps straight to the Bluetooth preference so unable to use Add To Home Screen to create an icon.
I wondered for so long why there has not been an app that simply toggles Bluetooth on/off. There is a Cydia one for jailbroken phones but I don’t want to go that route again.
So stupid and dangerous to hide this preference a toggle should be on the bottom menu of your home screen… Thanks for trying.

It works that way with my iPad (opens settings without asking) but if you just switch back to Safari, the page is still their and you can use the home screen shortcut.

      Thanks for commenting :-)
