iOS 4 - All things iOS 4

iPhone 3G Users - Alert!

ALERT: After using iOS 4 on a 3G iPhone for awhile now; we are not pleased with the performance. At this time we are recommending that iPhone 3G users DO NOT UPGRADE to iOS 4. When the first patch is released for iOS 4 we will re-evaluate and possibly change our recommendation. We are also investigating where or not it matters if you install iOS 4 on your iPhone 3G and "restore from backup" or "setup as new".
As mentioned on the home page - we fully support iOS 4 and have several new apps underway to take advantage of some new iOS 4 and iPhone 4 features.

iOS 3.0 Notice: All of our new apps will target iOS 3.1 as a minimum OS. There were significant changes from 3.0 to 3.1 and there's no reason anyone should stay on 3.0 (that's is you're not upgrading to iOS 4).

General Comments:
We have been using iOS 4 since the first beta and it has come along way. If you have a device that fully supports iOS 4, you are gonna LOVE IT! If your device only partially supports iOS 4, you may ask "what's the big deal?" Well there are still lots of features that will make using your slightly older device a pleasure to use.

New iOS 4 Features: (for current model devices)(1)
* Multitasking: this allows you to keep applications running and makes switching between them very quick.

* Home Screen wallpaper: this allows you to customize the look of your device. You can make it look as cool or ugly as you want ;-] You can set a different image for your lock screen or use the same one as your wallpaper.

* Bluetooth keyboard: this allows you to connect a bluetooth keyboard and use it for data entry. Super feature on the iPAd, however the iPhone has never been a data entry type device but I'm sure a few people will find this handy.

New iOS 4 Features: (for ALL devices)
* Folders: allow you to create groups of applications, in whatever way you want. Put all your travel related apps in one place or put all the apps you use while at work in one spot. Totally up to you.

* Mail (unified in-box): if you have more than one email account on your device (who doesn't these days?) then you will really appreciate the unified in-box.

* iBooks: if you've used the iPad version, you know it rocks! if not then you'll be pleasantly surprised.

* Universal Spell Checker: this is very cool and is also available on the iPad and quite honestly I took it for granted on iOS 4. You'll notice it I'm sure.

* iPod Playlists: when I found out you couldn't do this I was pretty surprised, but now you can!
