iOS 4.0.1 & Apple Media Event

Okay, iOS 4.0.1 is out for all iPhone's capable of running iOS 4 (iPhone 4, iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 3G). I've installed the update on my iPhone 4 and haven't noticed anything different. I'll give it some time and post back an update. For iOS 4.0.1 and the on-going iPhone 3G performance issue, check HERE.

Now, Apple media event:
Today Apple held a press conference and provided an update on the perceived "reception issue". I purposely used the word perceived because the issue IS present on nearly every cell phone on the market, especially smart phones. The short version is:

1. If you bought a bumper from Apple, you'll get a refund. Nice!
2. If you are still having problems with your iPhone 4 you can get a full refund and AT&T will (reportedly) roll-back your contract.
3. Next update for iOS 4 will try and address some proximity issues

User comment: We have been iPhone users since day one and since day one we have always seen signal reduction if you cover the iPhone like you have a mitten on. Yup, even back with the original black/silver iPhone. So ever since the first iPhone we have been holding our iPhone's, kind of with our finger tips to get the best signal and not block reception. It's been working fine. Now in our home we do have signal issues with AT&T but that was the same with the iPhone 3 series too so nothing new about the iPhone 4 have problems. We purchased an AT&T 3G Micro Cell and so far it has been working great.

Anyhow, I'll leave you with THIS to brighten your day :)
Edit: and here's the matching iPhone (m4r) ringtone!
